Cruising Solutions

North's Marathon 3DL™ cruising sails deliver an extraordinary blend of light weight, toughness and long-term shapeholding. Inside, Marathon 3DL features a 3-dimensionally molded 3DL fiber matrix (see right) designed specifically for cruising sailors. Sail shape stays fast and flat for the life of the sail. Outside, North's rugged new TF™ taffeta/films provide exceptional chafe, tear and UV resistance. Marathon 3DL is not for everyone. But for those who seek achievement, performance and the security of speed, this is the ultimate cruising sail.

· Tough North TF™ taffeta/film bonded to both sides of 3DL matrix provide exceptional chafe, tear and UV resistance.

· Supplementary UV protectant is redoubled in TF film and adhered to each individual fiber.

· Fungicide added to TF taffeta/film retards mildew formation.

· Marathon Yarn structure is comprised of specially coated standard modulus yarn for an ideal combination of light weight, low stretch and resistence to degradation from flex and UV exposure.

· Tough North TF™ taffeta/film bonded to both sides of 3DL matrix provide exceptional chafe, tear and UV resistance.

· New 3DL "multi-phase" bonding technology ensures long term integrity or laminate while reducing bond-induced stress on internal fibers during flex (especially beneficial for furling headsails.
