Question: I sail on a San
Juan 28. The owner recently purchased a North roller
furling 150% head sail and a Pro Furl furling system installed by North.
We raced
in the "A" fleet last weekend and flew the spinnaker. We had
trouble with the
external spinnaker halyard getting wrapped around the furler when unfurling
the
sail. The black plastic piece at the top of the furler catches the halyard.
Is there a solution to this problem?

Answer:
Hi Lamar, I can understand the problem that you describe, but can't offer
any solution without seeing how the parts are lined up. I suggest contacting
the
North rep who set up the system and ask them to take a look at the way
the
halyard and head swivel line up. There might be an easy solution to move
the head swivel up or down slightly by cutting the sail or adding a short
lashing, so the swivel does not collect the halyard as easily.
