Please, I would like to know if an Asynmetric Spinnaker is the same as a Gennaker?

Answer: Hi Sergio,

Yes, a Gennaker is an asymmetric spinnaker.

There are many types of asymmetric spinnakers used on cruising boats and race boats today. Some race boats, like open 60 multihulls, call their asymmetric sails Gennakers but the term is more commonly used to refer to a cruising boats' asymmetric spinnaker.
