Solutions for Cruising Sailors

Question:
Hi, I bought a new Morris M36 and am getting a Gennaker with it. I was wondering if I should choose the G2 or G3. I will be sailing the boat in the Chesapeake Bay.

Thanks,
Ed Morgan

Answer: Hello Ed,

My name is Steve Cruse and I supply all of the sails to Morris yachts. Initially, you may think of the difference between the two sails as large size and small size. In general, our customers who have some experience with spinnaker handling and trim will go with the larger, G-2 sail. People with less spinnaker experience or concern about too big a sail go with the smaller G-3. There is no difference physically handling one sail versus the other. I love the G-2 and believe it is well suited for a light air region like the Chesapeake.

Please feel free to call if this is not enough information for you.

Regards,
Steve
