Solutions for Cruising Sailors

Question:
Hello, I have an old Hood furler on my Moody 34 - used for cruising.
It is about time to change the furling line and I think mine was too thick.
What size and type of line would you recommend?

Many thanks for your help,
George Sekely

Answer: The best solution for your new furler line would be a 3/8" or 5/16" double braid polyester. The 3/8" option is slightly larger and would be easier on your hands but both diameters are plenty strong for the job. We would recomend Yale's Yachtbraid or New England Ropes' Sta Set products.
