Question: I have North full batten main and a 150% genoa on my Catalina 34 tall rig. Please advise best design information for suitable cunningham for cruising.

Thanks,
Steve

Answer: Dear Steve,

The best cunningham set up for your Catalina 34 would be a self contained 3:1 purchase with a cam cleat. This can be made with standard Harken Little Fiddle Blocks (Harken part #'s 028 and 038). The only thing you need to confirm is that you have an attachment point available for the purchase system at the base of your mast. Usually the vang attachment on the mast can be used for this, if not, a padeye or strap eye can be installed with a tap and machine screws.

If you have any further questions or would like some assistance in the project, please feel free to call me. We are a full service rigging facility and can set you up with all the parts you need for the project.
