10, 2007 by Mick Doughty I have a Hallberg Rassy Rasmus, ketch rigged, over in Slidell, due to "Katrina" and work commitments (in the UK) I have been unable to get the original work I wanted doing carried out or indeed come over for more than a year, I am concerned about the condition of the sails and wonder if you carry out cleaning refurbishment etc. I am afraid I do not know who supplied the sails as I came over in March 2005 bought the boat and returned to the UK (then the yard was trashed) she has a full suit of cruising sails (9 in total). I am considering going for a new roller furling head sail and probably a new main (240 sqft). I hope to fly over and be in Slidell early May. Are you able to help? Regards Answer: Dear Mick, Thank You for coming to North for your sailing needs. Congratulations on your purchase of such a great cruising boat. However, I'm sorry to hear your sailing plans were changed due to Katrina as have all in this area experienced some alteration of our lives. We do provide a service of refurbishing and cleaning of your sails. If you would like, for a small fee I will send my team to your boat and pick up the sails. I can e-mail you as to their condition, size, purpose, and life expectancy along with our recommendations for recondition, repair and/or cleaning. This will give us ample time to be prepared for when you arrive in May to discuss your cruising plans and if needed for any additions to your sails and/or rigging inventory. We also provide covers, rigging, interior work, and can recommend any other services you may need to get you sailing soon! Please feel free to contact me anytime. Regards, |
