Question:
Hello, I have an Oday 27 with a North Sails 130 genoa. This sail was in storage for a couple of years and when I bought the boat, I found it was very dirty. I washed it with mild soap and water and removed most of the stains. Is it wise to "STEAM CLEAN" the sail to remove mildew and oil stains?

Thanks
Javier

Answer: Hi Javier, to clean mildew, try a mixture of bleach and water with a soft bristle brush or mild scrubbing pad. To remove oil stains use a common household stain remover like "Shout" or "Spray n' Wash."

With either treatment, rinse the sail a couple of times with fresh water after cleaning. I am not sure what "Steam Cleaning" means but it is probably not necessary.
