Solutions for Cruising Sailors

Question:
Hi, my husband and I recently purchased a Tartan 37 which we normally sail shorthanded on the Chesapeake Bay. We would like to purchase a cruising
spinnaker in order to better enjoy the light summer winds. We have a 150%
Genoa that enables us to sail at hull speed in heavier winds. We
occasionally race. Which Gennaker would you recommend - the G2 or the G3?

Cathy Kreyling.

Answer: Hi Cathy, since your sailing is primarily in the summer conditions on the Bay, you will be better off with the G-2, the larger of the two cruising Gennakers. Before you order the sail, make sure to meet with the North rep in your area to review the spinnaker area requirements for the racing rule you will be competeing in.

Dan Neri
