Question: Hi
I have a brand new 3/4 oz tri-radial chute from a Newport 27 (I was told..)
I own a Tartan 30. Can that sail be added on to to fit my boat? I know
a larger sail can be cut down to fit, but how about the other way? I know
with a tri-radial it's not like puttting on another panel to the foot.
Thanks Gary
Answer:
Hi Gary,
It is easy and relatively cost effective to make a symetrical spinnaker
taller. The additional material is added to the middle of the sail,
not the foot. Making the sail wider is more complicated and typically
not worth the expense.
