Carbon sails have been in the mix for the 1D35 class for several years now, so the new sail material revelations from the Farr 40 and Mumm 30 are nothing new to this advanced performer.

The North Sails Class Development Program for the 1D35 class focuses on off-wind sails. A Code 1 Spinnaker raised the range and performance of this 0.5 oz. chute up to the low teens, which in turn allowed us to create a more specialized Code 2 Spinnaker. Lets face it, 0.5 oz. spinnakers are faster than 0.75 oz. spinnakers. So, why not have your best chute up even when the breeze hits the low 20's?
