Carbon 800 Using the North priority design software we started with the NW-07 mainsail and worked on duplicating an all carbon version of the sail. With v3 of the design we are ready to offer this sail for 2008. The sail will have more control of headstay sag as the mainsheet load is transferred directly to the boat through the 100% carbon yarns. Storm Trysail ST-08
(Not Required for Class Racing) There are presently 3 mast manufacturers for the Farr 40 and all 3 have different mainsail tack shackle offsets. As a result the order needs to note which mast the boat has. |

LA-08 3DL Carbon/Aramid
860 The LA-08 is the current standard light air jib in the class. LC-08 3DL Carbon
800L - recommended 100% Carbon sail, a development of our very successful LB mold. Used in Europe with great success and won the 2006 World Championship. Construction and “bag” weight lighter than previous jib designs. Both light jibs have been re-sized to allow sheeting with tighter inhaul. DESIGNED WIND RANGE: |

MA-08 3DL Carbon/Aramid
860L Updating the design utilizing the latest North 3DL thread-layouts we have taken this time to very slightly flatten the sail (from MA-05 ) for today’s tighter trimming techniques. MC-08 3DL Carbon
800 - recommended The MC-08 is a design progression from the MC-07. The design has slightly less vertical camber and less entry than it’s predecessor. This design was used to win the 2007 Worlds. This is the recommended class medium jib. Both medium jibs have been re-sized to allow sheeting with tighter inhaul. DESIGNED WIND RANGE: |

For 2008 the class
has decided to go with three Masthead Spinnakers. Two at 30 grams and
one at 40 grams. This permits the boat to carry a “family”
of MH spinnakers that have an effective range through all the racing conditions.
