| What North Sails J/105 Clients Have to Say: | |
“Steve Cruse and North Sails certainly
have helped the Vigilante program over the years and we continue
to raise our level of performance and expectation. We think we were
first at every weather mark except one or two at the Marblhead NOOD.
The boat is FAST thanks to your advice and
support. " “I had never raced a J/105 before and
we were the fastest boat at Charleston Race Week. The new North sails
are fast throughout the wind range and set up nicely with the tuning guide.
If not for the furler jamming on the last mark rounding in the last race
and having to sail the last beat with just the main, we would have won
easily. I am impressed with the new North sails." “I feel confident about
our pointing ability. We seem to have speed with the other boats, and
if we do not do well, it is because the skipper points it in the wrong
direction. We have always felt fast downwind with the old 1998 North 77
sq. meter, and now with the new 89 sq. meter.” “We had problems getting
off the line in the first two races of this past weekend’s NOOD
Regatta. However, our boat speed allowed us to still sail our own race
and kept us in the hunt. On the last day of the weekend we were consistently
fast, won the day, and moved up to 2nd overall. The new North J/105 sails
are fast in all conditions and we are especially pleased with the new
main design.” “Our new North AP jib
really gave us the ability to sail higher and faster than any other boat
that lined up with Masquerade. The A2 runner gave us the ability to sail
downwind high or low depending tactically on what we needed to do. We
got held out on starboard at the start one time but we were able to go
into point mode thanks to our new AP Jib and get over the boat on our
hip enabling us to get to the favored right side and win the race.”
“The racing in our local
J/105 fleet is very competitive, but our North sails gave us great boatspeed
that kept us near the top of the fleet in every race. With our North class
spinnaker, we always felt as though we had an advantage downwind which
helped us prevail in several very close downwind finishes.” “I am really happy with
the North sails. They are easy to trim and don’t seem to have a
weak wind range. With 22 boats and some of the class’s top sailors
at this event we could never have finished in the top couple of boats
each race without super boatspeed in all conditions.” |
