I have been sailing for 35 years & have been avid racer since 1992. I have had my Morgan 24 since 1983. I added a 6' Bow Sprit just to see how it would work. It has been a lot of fun & easier to sail short handed. Since this was an experiment I bought a couple of used sails from a Melges 24 & 1 from a J80 which needed to be cut down just a bit. Which asymmetric sails would be best to buy to enhance my inventory as I have decided to keep the Sprit?

I have a North 3DL mainsail on my fractional rigged J-29. The full upper batten has an adjustment wheel on the inner end of the batten pocket. What should I look for to determine the best setting for the batten and should it be adjusted differently when heading out in stronger conditions?

I am an experienced racer currently working up a 1982 Pearson 37R for
distance racing often shorthanded. What type of headsail and downwind inventory would give me the greatest "bang for the buck"? While keeping this boat as competitive AND simple to handle as possible? The boat has a late model (1999) Harken Roller Furling.

I'm a sophmore in high school, and for a science class we are required to do a science fair project where we pose a question and attempt to answer it through experimentation. I'm an avid racer (in the 420, FJ, and 29er classes in particular), so I was thinking of doing an experiment on optimum mast rake or maybe technique for attatching flow to a stalled sail. Any ideas?

I have a 1984 O'Day 30, used for club racing events on Long Island Sound. My upwind performance is poor; slow and she won't point - especially in light air. I'm looking into adding a new sail to my inventory. What do you recommend?

I own a Irwin 43 MKIII and just started doing some ocean racing. I only have the original genoa (about 130%) and the fully battened main. I know I need a storm genoa. I was thinking of adding a # 2 storm jib, what size? Storm Trysail?

I have a Ranger 33 and we've been able to remain very competitive despite the vintage. I think this has been helped along by having good sails. I'm looking for a jib that will give decent performance, but not overpower the boat. What would you recommend in terms of design and material?

We have recently purchased the Farr 40 G’NET, and are now the proud owners of an extensive inventory of 3DL sails! Can you please confirm the best way to store them when not in use? Also, any tips on preserving their useful life would be appreciated.

I have a Gorman Express 30 which I club race. I have the opportunity to purchase a used North 3DL sail in very good condition that will fit my boat. My concern is the sail has flexible battens will I be able to furl this type of sail?

I just purchased of a loose foot / partial batten main back at the end of summer. What should I be looking for in terms of up wind trim (twist/draft set) to get more performance out of my new main?

I am considering a new mainsail and I have heard that the loose footed mainsail has made the mainsail with a deep racing shelf foot obsolete. I have confidence in North Sails, and if you say the loose footed main is the way to go, I'll be convinced.

I do some daysiling and clubracing with a Cal 25 in the Chesapeake Bay. I would like to replace my old #1 genoa with a triradial. I've seen NorLam 3200 and 4500 mentioned as fabrics for such a sail. What are the pros/cons of each?

We are seeing more and more self tacking jibs lately compared to huge overlapping genoas of yesterday. What are the performance losses between the two?

I have a Ranger 33 and we race on the upper Hudson. I have a Hood SL furler on the boat. My old North genoas were decksweepers and I was wondering how low one could cut a 150 and still get it to roll up on the furler?
