Question:
We are new to racing and have a 1977 Victory 21 that I just finished refurbishing. When we purchased her a year ago, she came with two, old (non-racing) sails. What kind of main and jib sails do you recommend? We will be sailing at Huntington Lake all summer.

Answer: Hi Conrad,

For racing, I recommend building a Dacron mainsail with full top batten and a Kevlar 155% genoa. These two sails will maximize your performance and are the best value. The Dacron main is very durable and will hold its shape well. The Kevlar genoa is very light weight for light air but also strong enough to handle 20 knots of wind.

Please let me know if this is what you are interested in.
