Veteran
sailmaker and world class sailor Larry Leonard (left)
has joined North Sails and will work within
the Performance Resource Group. Leonard will be devoting his attention
to special projects, providing ongoing customer service and support,
and consulting with both the design and technology departments. "I
am very excited about working for North Sails,"
says Leonard, who has raced in nearly every major regatta and distance
race worldwide, including the 1987 America's Cup in Fremantle, Australia,
where he was mainsail trimmer and sail designer for America
II. “I've spent the better part of my life either
racing sailboats or building sails and I am happy that I will be able
to continue my career with a team of people who share my goal to make
the strongest, fastest, and most durable sails possible." Full

The
Med-Red Rally, now in its fourth year and a "gotta
do" for cruisers, is promising "more Tawilla, more leisure,
more adventure, and a lot of sun and fun" for the 2008 event.
The rally starts in Tel Aviv, Israel, on May 10, 2008, and continues
down the Suez Canal to the Red Sea—Tawilla Island, Hurghada,
Sharm el Sheikh—before returning to Israel and on to northern
Cyprus and Turkey, ending in Marmaris, Turkey, on June 19. Easy
Swissa, the managing director of North
Sails, Israel, is also the Med-Red Rally commodore, so we know
this event will be well-run and lots of fun! Complete details and
registration at: www.med-red-rally.com |
